Purpose of the Position:

Under limited supervision performs all the duties of a GA WIC Competent Professional Authority meeting all standards as established by GAWIC and CDPH in the performance of those duties.  Self-monitors and assures that all GA professional and ethical standards for a state employee are maintained. Self-monitors and assures ongoing professional development necessary to maintain those skills utilizing multiple resources.  “This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb & Douglas Counties.”  

 

Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Obtains, documents and plots anthropometrics and finger stick hemoglobin with accuracy on WIC applicants per set guidelines
  • Assesses nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling
  • Counsel’s participants & their families and groups on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life
  • Ability to travel to other clinics (5 clinics) within the district (2 counties) as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and two (2) years of job-related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals; or Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 1 (HCP020) or equivalent position.

 

Preferred Qualifications: :  B.S. in eligible degree for Academy Accredited Dietetic Internship.    CLC and/or IBCLC; GA WIC experience; CDPH WIC experience

 

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Inventory Management requires lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Fast paced work environment: ability to prioritize and self-manage tasks needed

 

Salary Information:   $25.00/Hr. | Part-time Up to 29 hrs./ week | No Benefits
