The City of Powder Springs, GA is recruiting for an Agency Head (Infrastructure and Development).  The Agency Head is responsible for the leadership and management of several departments including Community Development, Public Works, Sanitation and Stormwater.

The City of Powder Springs is centrally located in Cobb County just outside of I-285.  The City is just 40 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and is in close proximity to Atlanta.

The City is served by the award winning Cobb County School District, has thriving neighborhoods, a healthy mix of retail and restaurants, diverse housing, and is considered to be a safe, inviting and engaged community.   The City provides high quality services you would expect from a leading community in metro Atlanta. 

The City has approximately 80 employees across several departments.  The FY 2024 General Fund budget is just under $13M. The municipality provides its residents with a full array of exceptional services.

The Agency Head (Infrastructure and Development) is one of two agency heads reporting to the City Manager and is a key member of the leadership team.  The City of Powder Springs is a unique place and has a dynamic culture that that relies on outstanding leaders to provide exceptional service.   It is uncommon for the City to have a leadership team vacancy and therefore this is a special opportunity to join an experienced and innovative team.

The position requires the successful candidate to meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree, Masters (preferred) and licensure as a Professional Engineer (preferred but not required).

 

• Significant experience in both community development, planning and infrastructure development.  Experience with the management of public infrastructure capital projects.

 

The full salary range for this position is $79,447 to $121,750.
