Listing Summary

Under administrative direction of the Inspector Supervisor, performs a variety of technical field and office engineering work involved in inspecting construction activities on assigned engineering/public works projects; ensures conformance with approved plans, specifications, and City standards; identifies erosion and sediment control violations for the City; investigates, inspects, and enforces state, federal, and City erosion and sediment codes; maintains records and prepares reports on projects inspected; and provides information and assistance to contractors, developers, engineers, and the general public in person, by telephone, or in the field.

Minimum Qualifications

Combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job qualifies.

 

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by specialized training in public works inspection, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible construction, soil erosion and sedimentation control, construction site inspections, construction plan interpretation, or public works maintenance experience.
  • Possession of Erosion and Sediment Control certification; may be required to possess additional certification(s) as deemed necessary by the department.
  • Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license.
