Job Summary: 

The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a strategic and dynamic Grants Administrator to lead the charge in managing and expanding our grant portfolio. This pivotal role involves the entire spectrum of activities from the conceptualization to the implementation of grants, ensuring not only the acquisition of funds for critical City services, including police, fire, emergency management, transportation, stormwater, sustainability, or economic development, your work will directly contribute to improving the lives of our community members. 

What You'll Do:

  • Spearhead the planning, development, and administration of grants, aligning with City needs and strategic priorities.
  • Lead a team with integrity, fostering an environment of growth, accountability, and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments and community partners to identify funding opportunities and develop compelling grant applications.
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with all grant requirements, from federal to local levels, and maintain meticulous records and reports to support this.
  • Engage in productive partnerships with stakeholders across the board, enhancing the City's ability to secure funding for vital projects.
  • Keep abreast of federal, state and foundation grant programs, including eligibility, best practices, and compliance with rules, regulations and laws. 
  • Oversees Grant projects throughout their life cycle to ensure compliance with funding agency requirements.
  • Coordinates actions with Federal, State and Subcontracted Program Managers regarding programmatic and budgetary changes, conducts monitoring visits and develops corrective action plans. 
  • Prepares Council agenda materials, resolutions, memorandums of understanding, and contracts as required in coordination with the City Attorney’s Office. 

Who We're Looking For:

  • A visionary with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Planning, Political Science, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. 
  • Someone with at least five years of professional experience in grant writing and administration, ready to bring their expertise to the table. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of seeking, receiving and managing grant funds. 
  • A leader who is not just proficient in managing grants but also in managing people, capable of inspiring and directing a team towards achieving common goals.
  • An individual with a knack for strategic thinking, able to navigate complex information, and make informed decisions that propel the City forward.
  • Grant Professional Certification (GPC) or other equivalent financial certification preferred. Experience as a fundraising professional is a plus.
