Under limited supervision, is responsible for enforcing County Codes and state and local laws relating to public safety and welfare.
High School Diploma or state-awarded GED required (Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred) with a minimum of two to four years of code enforcement, law enforcement, and/or building inspection experience (or related); must be a P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement officer (or obtain P.O.S.T. law enforcement certification within probationary period); or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Incumbent must complete 12-week Field Training Officer program with the Sheriff’s Office.
