Purpose of the Position:

Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing, case management, home visitation, clerical and nutrition services for all Community Health Programs within the Center for Community Health & Strategy. Ensures that staff assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement care plans, and maintain medical records. Oversees services in Babies Can’t Wait (BCW), Children’s Medical Services (CMS), WIC, Children 1st, Early Hearing Detection & Intervention (EHDI), Perinatal Case Management (PCM and BBH), Scoliosis Screening, Chronic Disease Prevention, Injury Prevention and other related programs for pregnant women and children in the district. Directly supervises program staff and budgets in areas of responsibility. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.

 

Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Assures that services offered through the Community Health Section are adequate, appropriate, and accessible.
  • Develops long and short-term goals for the Community Health programs and Cobb & Douglas Public Health and participates in the agency's strategic and operational planning.
  • Oversees the planning, development, scheduling, and implementation of Community Health programs and activities.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Two years of experience at the lower level Mgr 3, Hlth Care (HCM012) or position equivalent.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in public health or a health-related field or 5+ years in leadership of public health programs/case management services. Specific experience in maternal child health public health programs/services.

 

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

Generally sedentary for desk work and meetings. Some car travel around district and to state office or within the State of Georgia for Meetings and training.

 

Salary Information: $92,036 Annually | Pay Grade: O
