Position Information

The purpose of this classification is to perform technical, professional level work to produce live and video taped programming for the government access television channel. Tasks include producing, filming, editing, and placing programming into the schedule.

Job Summary

Produces live and recorded video news content and programming for various mediums highlighting all areas of County government operations including Parks & Recreation, Fire Department, Animals Services, Engineering and more.

Designs, plans, records and edits projects from inception to public release on varying deadlines. Helps plan, coordinate and maintain the department’s video and audio recording equipment. Records and produces live video operations for various County meetings for elected officials.

Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects and other Creative Cloud software and applications.

Operates related equipment including linear/editing equipment, video recording/playback equipment, multi-media software, broadcast cameras, analog edit/switching systems, audio mixer, and lighting kits; utilizes word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, database, and related programs.

Experience operating DSLR cameras and experience with broadcast control equipment is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with technical school training in video production, photojournalism or related field and two or more years of experience in professional video production with experience operating related equipment and systems, programming, editing, camera work, directing and producing; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
