This position is responsible for maintenance of official county records and assistance to the County Manager and Board of Commissioners.

The grade for this position is 23.

 

 Examples Of Essential Duties:MAJOR DUTIES
 

  • Maintains all official records of the County.
  • Prepares agendas for each Board of Commissioners meeting.
  • Serves as executive assistant to the County Manager and Board of Commissioners.
  • Provides support to Commissioners as need; locates document and copies recordings.
  • Prepares minutes from each Board of Commissioners meeting.
  • Responds to open records and serves as open records liaison.
  • Maintains budgets for the department as well as payroll for all department heads.
  • Organizes all travel arrangements for County Manager and Board of Commissioners.
  • Attends all official county hearings and at bid openings.
  • Coordinates office supplies.
  • Performs related duties.

 
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
 

  • Knowledge of basic computer operations.
  • Skill in interpersonal communication.
  • Skill in organization and multitasking.

 

 Typical Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
  • Must have attended 15 hours of mandated Georgia Clerks training.
  • Must be able to obtain the Georgia Certified Clerk Certification as training becomes available.
