This position is responsible for providing secretarial and customer service support for department operations. Guidelines include department policies and procedures. Answers telephones and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; schedules appointments and takes messages; refers to appropriate personnel. Provides visitors with tours of the facility. Collects and receipts fees; prepares deposits. Posts program attendance numbers. Processes payroll documents. Maintains calendar of events. Prepares monthly newsletters. Compiles, composes, edits and types letters, memoranda, special reports and other materials; prepares documents from rough drafts. Maintains office supply inventory. Operates a variety of office equipment. Sorts and delivers mail. Prepares required reports. Maintains office files; retrieves files as needed. Perform related duties.
Two (2) years of office experience required. Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level associated with the completion of high school or the equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with having had a similar office position for two (2) years. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Knowledge of modern office equipment. Knowledge of customer service standards. Ability to type 45 wpm accurately. Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs. Skill in decision making and problem solving. Skill in dealing with the public. Skill in oral and written communication.
