This position is responsible for receiving and recording customer payments and related customer service duties. Contacts are typically with co-workers and members of the general public, in person and by telephone. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency of city operations. Receive utility and tax payments. Maintain and balance cash drawer. Assist customers in completing forms. Issue work orders. Maintain inventory of forms. File customer forms. Perform other related duties.
Must have the ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level associated with the completion of high school or the equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years. Knowledge of customer service policies and procedures. Knowledge of computers and job related software programs. Skill in oral and written communications.
