Organization and Employee Development Trainer

Salary Range: $50,784 - $78,714

Applications are being accepted for two positions.  One position for softs skills delivery and instructional design and the second for technical skills design and training delivery. A writing sample for a previous developed training by the applicant is required.

This posting will stay open until further notice. Salary is commensurate with experience.

 

Purpose of Classification:

The purpose of this classification is to conduct training needs assessments; develop, revise, and update course curriculum; coordinate, develop, implement, and conduct training programs.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Develops, implements, coordinates, and provides training for County employees: develops/designs training materials and lesson plans; facilitates classes and coordinates scheduling with appropriate departments.

Reviews lesson plans and class materials with instructors/facilitators; and reviews and analyze class evaluation reports and attendance numbers to make adjustments for planning and reporting purposes, and training effectiveness.

Evaluates and updates training programs to remain current with new training techniques: research, designs, develops, and implements new training programs/classes as requested.

Markets and promotes training programs creates and distributes promotional materials to increase awareness of and participation in employee development programs; prepares flyers, brochures, emails, etc.; makes presentations to various departments as requested; and serves as liaison to other departments, trainers and agencies as needed. Writes, reviews and publishes training manuals and handbooks prepares lesson plans according to design standards, including all handouts, scenarios/games and other materials for conducting classes; and submits all materials for review by appropriate County/Legal staff as necessary.  Maintains copies of all instructional materials in authorized format for historical course documentation purposes.

Administers and monitors end-of-course surveys to assist with process improvement initiatives and strategies.

Works closely with administrative support and Division Manager to schedule and coordinate classes and create a published training schedule.

Assists in managing and tracking tuition reimbursement program in accordance with County policies and facilitate updates to policy, procedures, and forms.

Prepares and receives various forms, reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, manuals, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.

Communicates effectively with internal and external customers; coordinates work activities, reviews status of work, exchanges information, or resolves issues.

Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

Explores trends, innovations and applications within the training industry for program and professional development.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, or related field required; three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, training or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. 

Specific License or Certification Required:  Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. PHR/SPHR Certification or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) required or must be able to attain within one year of employment in the classification.

 

Supplemental Information

Preferred experience – Organization and Employee Development Technical Trainer

  • Trainer experience specific to human resources systems products/applications, electronic solution products, and technology support training to include writing technical training programs
  • Experience in analyzing requirements, designing learning objectives and delivering courses in multiple formats using innovative techniques and tools, such as social media technology, web-based and other creative strategies to build creative and blended training modules and offerings
  • Experience using innovative techniques and tools, such as social media technology, web-based and other strategies to build creative training modules and offerings
  • Strong ability to communicate highly technical information in easy-to-understand language, and engage individuals who are anxious about or disinterested in their use of computers and applications
  • Excellent verbal, comprehension, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Solid technical writing and documentation abilities for training and standard operating procedures manuals, quick reference guides, etc.
  • Work in collaboration with functional process owners to resolve identified related application training issues
  • Experienced participant in user acceptance testing for proprietary applications prior to system deployments and implementation
  • Proficient Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Adobe Pro, Zoom and other learning technologies (i.e., Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and Captivate)
  • Possess strong  analytical, planning and assessment abilities
  • Ability to partner with subject matter experts, to create documentation to improve learning outcomes
  • Ability to partner with customer departments to understand training needs objectives and devise an appropriate strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, within tight timelines and with strict attention to detail
  • Capable of working in a team, dynamic, rapidly changing environment

 

Preferred experience – Organization and Employee Development Trainer

  • Experience in analyzing requirements, designing learning objectives and delivering courses in multiple formats using innovative techniques and tools, such as social media technology, web-based and other creative strategies to build creative and blended training modules and offerings
  • Excellent verbal, comprehension, interpersonal and written communication skills with a proven ability to write effective training and marketing material
  • Current training certifications in DiSC, Myers-Briggs and/or other personality, skills and knowledge building certifications
  • Experience in assisting with and/or conducting training needs assessment to align training goals with HR and County objectives
  • Ability to partner with subject matter experts, to create documentation to improve learning outcomes
  • Ability to partner with customer departments to understand training needs objectives and devise an appropriate strategy
  • Experience coordinating a Tuition Reimbursement Program
  • Intermediate to Advanced Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom, Survey Monkey (or other electronic surveying) skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, within tight timelines and with strict attention to detail
  • Capable of working in a team dynamic, rapidly changing environment
