The City of Stockbridge has an employment opportunity for a Chief Planner within the Community Development Department. This position will perform supervisory and professional level planning duties in the administration of the City's Comprehensive Plan, Unified Development Code, Permit & License issuance tracking and other areas as assigned. Performs complex and advanced City planning activities involving extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of urban planning and manages GIS applications. The Chief Planner manages and supervises the Planning & Zoning, GIS and Permitting division within the larger planning department of the organization and may function as a Deputy for the Community Development Director.

Required Skills & Abilities:
Master's degree in planning or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of experience in the urban planning profession. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in city or regional planning, and/or an equivalent combination of professional experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. AICP Certification preferred. A Georgia Driver’s License is required. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Hiring range: $65,507.24 to $83,522.34.p >
