Position Title:  Finance Director

Department: Finance

Salary: salary Commensurate with experience, education and training. This is a salaried position with an excellent comprehensive benefits package.

 

The Madison County Government in Danielsville, Georgia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Finance Director to direct and manage the Finance Department and to oversee the County fiscal programs, including: investments; debt management; budget development and management; purchasing; treasury; accounting and financial information systems.  Desirable candidate must be able to provide financial leadership, long-term strategic planning and expertise to the Board of Commissioners in the area of financial management.   Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field plus a minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience managing all financial functions and activities and related responsibilities of a local government; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job.  Certification as a certified Government Finance Manager, Certified Public Finance Officer and/or Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred.  Must have the ability to effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing, must be able to travel out of town for training, seminars and meeting’s with the possibility of overnight stays, ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with County management, other employees and general public.
