Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Assists in developing/administering policies and procedures, budgetary decisions, extensive scope/impact of decisions both internal and external contacts, and mission of the department. Participates in planning and implementation of required business processes. Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Responsible for a subdivision and/or subunit of a department. Requires supervising additional personnel and day-to-day program management / reporting under university-wide direction.

Responsibilities

1. Implementation and management of records policies and procedures focused on student success

2. Coordinates all student processes that relate to the department’s functions

3. Executes reports related to record audits, interprets results, delivers analysis and resolutions

4. Actively engages with the department leadership and proposes ideas and solutions for successful progress of the operation

5. Responsible for the supervision of assigned staff

6. Works collaboratively with campus-wide departments regarding the implementation of policies and procedures

7. Lead meetings regarding projects

8. Provides leadership and support to department, division, and university stakeholders

9. Develops, trains, implements, maintains, and communicates services and programs to relevant stakeholders

10. Develops, trains, implements, maintains, and supports professional development of staff and relevant stakeholders

11. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, NCAA, USG and Kennesaw State rules and regulations

12. Contributes and participates in the strategic planning process and future direction of the department/division

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience
Five (5) years of supervisory experience within a professional Financial Aid Office

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in higher education or related field
Extensive working and tested knowledge of Banner (Ellucian)
NASFAA Credentials

KNOWLEDGE
Extensive working and tested knowledge of State Program rules and regulations, as they pertain
to Financial Aid in the State of Georgia, Title IV rules and regulations, as they pertain to Federal Student Financial Aid
Demonstrated experience leading compliance efforts involving federal, state, and institutional financial aid
Working knowledge of and abide by the regulations of the Family Education Rights and Privacy
Act (FERPA)
Successful track record in planning, coordinating, and completing large scale, detail-oriented
projects and events

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project
management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft
Office suite, Ellucian Banner Financial Aid Module, USG GA Modifications to Banner, Common
Origination and Disbursement, Central Processing System, Surfer, and the National Student Loan Data System)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Conflict management and resolution skills, high level of empathy and ability to deal with difficult and confidential situations
