The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Road Superintendent/Public Works Director. This position is responsible for planning and managing all the county's public works projects and services, coordinates and cooperates with federal, state, and local officials, other county government agencies, and non-government organizations to insure adequate provision of county-wide public works services.
Candidate must possess knowledge of public works principles, practices, construction and maintenance standards, methods, materials, equipment, and costs. Solid fiscal management skills, strong communication skills, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential.

The minimum qualifications for the position are a bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the field and a minimum of five years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job.
