Purpose of Job

When assigned to Small Business & Entrepreneurship Development:  

The purpose of this job is to develop coordinated strategies and work to create greater access to the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem in the local community, conduct outreach to existing and currently underserved small business owners and entrepreneurs, build relationships to support small business retention and expansion, and other duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, identifying gaps in existing small business resources and education, building critical community and key stakeholder relationships, collaborating with multiple small business service providers to fill resource and education gaps, fostering entrepreneurial growth, planning and hosting events, and contributing to marketing efforts. 

Job Related Requirements

Work Schedule:  Typically M-F, 8-5, may be required to work outside of normal business hours. This position generally works remotely, but may be required to attend in-person meetings, activities, and events.

Some weekend and evening work may be required. 

May be required to work on religious holidays.

Regular and predictable attendance is required. 

Must work cooperatively with others.

When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.

MINIMUM TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

When assigned to Small Business & Entrepreneurship Development: 

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Marketing, Business, Real Estate, or related discipline; and four years of small business services, entrepreneurship ecosystem development, innovation, economic development, project management, marketing, or related experience required.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Experience as a small business owner or provider of small business/entrepreneur services is preferred.
