The City of Monticello, Georgia is seeking a skilled Finance Director that will be responsible for planning, directing, overseeing, and maintaining all activities and operations of the City’s Finance Department including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, utility billing, accounts receivable, payment processing, grant administration and with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and rules governing municipal finance administration. This position is under the direct supervision of the City Manager.
Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, related field or an equivalent combination of extensive education, training, and experience; Master's degree and CPA preferred; minimum of four years of department director/upper-level management experience in local government or in a department director role in the private sector is required. Working knowledge of computerized utility billing is a plus. Previous experience as a finance director is desirable.
