Listing Summary

Under supervision of the City Administrator and City Council, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides professional counsel and technical advice to the City Administrator and City Council on matters relating to financial strategies and services; policy and program development; management operations; annual budget and capital planning; project finance; and research, preparation and presentation of technical and operational studies and recommendations including development of long term financial strategies for a fast growing city providing services utilizing both staffing and contract services financed through a combination of general, enterprises, and special revenue funds.  

Licenses and Certification Required: 

• Possession of, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of appointment, membership in Georgia Government Finance Officers Association (GGFOA). 
• Certified Local Government Finance Officer Program, Level 1 within two (2) years of employment. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field required; CGFO, CPA or master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in municipal financial management sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives.
• Never been convicted of a felony.
• A citizen of the United States or has obtained legal work status. 
• Must meet department's background requirements. 
• Work evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required. 
• Must be able to pass a credit check.
