The City of Duluth, Georgia (pop. 31,000) is seeking to fill a position for an ACCOUNTING OFFICER.
This position is responsible for conducting general accounting and financial activities of the City involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, journal entries, bank reconciliation, maintenance of records, and other financial activities. This work requires a great attention to detail; requires work to be completed within designated timeframes and in accordance with established procedures; and involves interaction with co-workers, department heads, vendors, and occasionally the general public.
The City is seeking an individual with strong accounting skills. Knowledge of and experience complying with generally acceptable accounting principles (GAAP); standard governmental fund accounting principles, practices, and procedures; Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST); IRS regulations; and government finance particularly desirable.
This position requires:
Hiring Range: $58,673 - $85,643, based on qualifications (Grade 27A)
