We are looking for a responsible Police Officer to maintain law and order, protect members of the public and their properties, prevent crime and improve citizens’ quality of life. The goal is to achieve community safety and crime reduction.
Serves as Training Officer over all initial and continuing in-service training. Schedules and conducts all required training, including the initial and ongoing weapons training, certifications and re-certifications;
Serves as the Primary Armorer for the Service and ensures that firearms are maintained within factory specifications, provides advanced cleaning and repair, inventories weapons and ammunition;
Patrol assigned areas and monitor activities to protect people and property; Investigate crimes and traffic accidents and apprehend suspected law violators; Conduct initial investigations; Gather evidence and ensure successful prosecutions; Prepare required reports and forms; Attend and provide evidence in court; Coordinate operations with other emergency services;
Enforce Georgia traffic law and issue uniform citations for violations observed; utilize police traffic radar and lidar; enforce DUI laws; participate in traffic safety checkpoints; direct traffic during emergencies or special events; Perform school zone traffic control duties;
Candidate must be currently certified by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council in Basic Law Enforcement & Police Traffic RADAR/LIDAR;
Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of law enforcement experience and be recommended by prior law enforcement supervisors as having the potential to successfully instruct other law enforcement officers.
Candidate must be willing to obtain certifications as a General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, RADAR/LIDAR Instructor, TASER Instructor, Field Training Officer, Glock Armorer, etc.
Candidate will be required to score 90% or higher on the Georgia Semi-Automatic Pistol Course and pass both rifle and shotgun qualifications.
Candidate must successfully pass a thorough background investigation, fingerprint check, drivers history check, drug testing, medical exam.
$14 - $15 per hour ($29,120. - $31,200.)
