Recreation Facility Attendant -ATHLETICS  

$15.00 hourly Non-Exempt

Job Summary
Employees in this classification are responsible for providing customer service to visitors of the Recreation Center and other County parks and recreation facilities. Duties vary depending on the assigned facility and events and include: greeting visitors and receiving and responding to inquiries; light clerical and receptionist duties; light facility maintenance; and outside ball field maintenance work. Work is assigned by an administrative superior and is performed in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Essential Functions

Greets and welcomes visitors to the center.
Receives and responds to visitor inquiries.
May collect fees.
May perform field maintenance work such as dragging and lining fields; may operate a small tractor and golf cart in order to perform assigned tasks; may perform office maintenance work such as restocking restroom supplies, picking up trash, and moving trash cans to the street for collection.
May perform secretarial and receptionist duties, i.e., typing, computer skills, filing, record keeping, and answering phones for the department.
    Additional Duties:
Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of County parks and recreation facilities and programs.
Knowledge of athletics, sports, and related rules.
Skill in operating modern office equipment.
Skill in operating basic park maintenance equipment.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information.
Ability to work with money and cash receipts.
Ability to use tact and courteousness in dealing with the public.
Ability to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with customers, players, coaches, other department staff, and County employees.
Ability to use tools and equipment requiring dexterity.
Working Conditions
Work is performed indoors at a park office or other County facility and/or outdoors at ball fields and other park locations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent or six (6) months of general office and/or maintenance work experience.
