The City of College Park, GA is searching for a Director of Airport Affairs to be an advocate for the City of College Park, and a collaborative partner with the entities, businesses and governments forming the aerotropolis surrounding Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. 

The City of College Park is in Metro Atlanta adjacent to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The City covers over 12 square miles with a population of 14,000 as of the 2020 census. The City's general fund budget in 2022 is $30M and all funds top out at over $131M.

The Airport Affairs Director is focused on maximizing the financial benefits from the ATL and minimizing quality of life issues caused by the ATL.

 

There are significant economic development benefits from being a part of the Aerotropolis surrounding an airport and the City aggressively pursues these opportunities. The Airport Affairs Director works collaboratively with Economic Development and other city officials to leverage these opportunities to benefit the City of College Park.

 

In addition, the Director is responsible for advocating the city's financial interests in collecting taxes generated from the airport the city is entitled to receive.  The Director is the main point of contact for the City for all capital projects at the Airport that may impact the interests of the City of College Park. The Director will establish and maintain relationships with the management of the ATL and protect the interests of the City.

 

The Director is responsible for the City's relationship with the Federal Aviation Administration and in advocating for the health, welfare, and safety of its residents on noise mitigation issues.
