Equipment Operator (Street Department)

The City of Americus is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Equipment Operator.  The beginning salary for this position is $26,881 annually ($12.92/ hour).

Responsibilities of this position are to drive and or operate a variety of trucks and equipment for the purpose of maintaining and repairing city streets, sidewalks, curbs, sewer services and mains, water services and mains, lift stations and ROW’s.

Requirements include High School Diploma or its recognized equivalent GED; Requires six months in manual labor and in the use and operation of vehicles and equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
