ENTRY SALARY:   $17.23 per hour, plus benefits. 

JOB SUMMARY:  This position supervises and participates in the maintenance of county parks and facilities. Participates in the maintenance of county parks, athletic fields, and related facilities; performs turf management duties; prepares athletic fields for play. Installs and maintains landscaping. Removes litter and debris from playgrounds, parking lots, pavilions, and other park facilities; empties trash receptacles. Cleans and restocks restrooms. Ensures work is performed in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations. Provides direction to less-experienced personnel. Assists in preparing for tournaments, special events, and programs. Trims, removes, and provides care for trees, bushes, and ornamental plants. Inspects playground and reports maintenance needs to supervisor. Assists in the repair and maintenance of tools and equipment. Performs minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Repairs irrigation systems. Operates a variety of equipment, including a tractor and skid steer. Performs related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
