Summer Camp Counselor
The City of Milton is looking for a highly qualified individual to serve as a Summer Camp Counselor.
The role of the Summer Camp Counselor consists of mentoring, teaching, guiding, and providing a support system for the children who attend camp. The purpose of this position is to supervise, teach, and instruct youth in various games, arts, and leisure skills in a camp environment. The Counselor’s chief responsibilities that help achieve this goal are: leading a specific group of children through the daily camp schedule, providing support and encouragement to all campers, and working with team members to ensure that the needs of all campers are met. The Counselor answers to the Camp Manager and Lead Counselor.
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications:
Sixteen (16) years of age or High school diploma and 1 – 2 years of previous camp experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess or acquire the following certifications: Standard First Aid and CPR/AED (American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Certification classes will be provided by the City of Milton prior to camp. Certifications must be valid through the employment period. Must have a valid Georgia Driver's License. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening required.
Salary: Starting at $12.00 per hour.
