POSITION INFORMATION:
Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission, a joint planning agency serving Liberty County and its 7 municipal governments, is looking for a Construction Inspector. The role of the Construction Inspector is to conduct onsite inspection of property development projects in the incorporated areas of Liberty County to ensure compliance with local ordinances and regulations. Specific inspections include individual inspections of utility and road construction, site work, soil erosion and sediment control devices and stormwater management facilities
JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for inspection and monitoring land development projects in the jurisdiction of the Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission; ensuring project compliance with local ordinances and other applicable development regulations; and assisting in the reporting of development and compliance activity to state and federal regulatory agencies. Maintains a daily log of inspections, including any test results, compliance issues or directives given to contractors. The Construction Inspector also issues land disturbing activity permits and other land clearing-related permits and maintains a log of such permits. Maintains plans and files of active construction projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, and a level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in construction, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Construction inspection experience in a similar position preferred. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission Level 1B certification for erosion and sediment control inspections. Must also possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
SALARY
The hiring salary range for this position is $44,811-$60,266 per year DOQ.
