Georgia City-County Management Association

Summary

The Georgia City-County Management Association (GCCMA) is seeking proposals from qualified attorneys or law firms to help support our members—city and county managers/administrators across Georgia—with legal services related primarily to employment agreements and severance agreements.

Our objective is to create a reliable, specialized legal resource that our members can turn to for advice, contract review, and negotiation support as they navigate job transitions and employment issues with the Georgia local governments that are their employers. Although Georgia cities and counties usually have appointed city attorneys and county attorneys, those attorneys represent the best interests of the local government. Individual city/county managers and administrators on occasion need independent legal advice regarding their employment relationship with the city or county.

GCCMA is a professional membership association that includes appointed managers and administrators serving Georgia’s cities and counties. GCCMA supports its members by providing resources, professional development, and networking opportunities. A recurring need of members is legal support related to employment contracts and transitions from public service positions, including severance agreements.  GCCMA currently has approximately 300 full members. It is estimated that up to 10% might want to use this service.
