Regional Planner

The Coastal Regional Commission (CRC), an EEO Employer, is a coastal Georgia based organization serving ten counties and thirty-five cities with comprehensive planning and development services. Our Planning and Government Services Department is announcing a new job opening for a Regional Planner. The Regional Planner will work closely with local governments on advanced, highly complex professional planning and government services activities. The Regional Planner will:

·       Prepare local comprehensive plans

·       Prepare regional comprehensive plan

·       Implement comprehensive plans through planning tools

·       Provide staff support to local governments

·       Serve as liaison between CRC and external organizations

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Planning or related field

·       Minimum two years of planning related experience; graduate degree may be substituted for experience

·       Interdisciplinary knowledge of urban and regional planning

·       Knowledge of Georgia planning law

·       Proficient in interpreting federal and state regulations

·       Proficient in the use of computers and Office 365 software

·       Superior, demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, solid organization skills, and self-motivated.
