Job Summary:

This person in this position assists in the management of the City of Loganville.  

 

Major Duties:

·         Managing operations and programs with department heads and key management staff.

·         Monitoring and evaluating the progress of departments to achieve the goals and objectives of the administration.

·         Assists with the comprehensive analysis, planning, and implementation of capital improvements throughout the city; assists with city-wide strategic planning activities.

·         Understanding of local government finance and procurement, and experience with developing and monitoring departmental, project, and program budgets.

·         Assists with the development and administration of the city’s budget; directs the forecasting of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.

·         Evaluating and analyzing interdepartmental processes for risk-mitigation, safety, quality control and improvement.

·         Responding to inquires from the public regarding issues unresoluved at the departmetal level.

·         Collaborating with the City Manager and staff to develop the City’s strategic plan, annual operating budget, and capital budgets, as directed by the City Council.

·         Assists with the preparation of meeting agendas and supporting materials; presents recommendations to the council.

·         May perform the duties of City Clerk as directed by the City Manager including recording and preserving official minutes and other official documents; Documents and publishes ordinances and resoloutions; responds to open records requests, perform financial administrative duties, including tax and revenuse collections; Conduct tax sales of delinquestn property; Perform duties as the Election Superintendant.

·         Performs related duties.

   

Knowledge Required by the Position:

·         Knowledge of public administration principals and practies.

·         Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, local codes and ordinances, and city rules and regulations.

·         Knowledge of budget preparation and management principls.

·         Knowledge of the functions and operations of city departments.

·         Knowledge of the principals of contract negotiantion and administration.

·         Knowledge of personnel management principals, rules, and regulations.

·         Knwoledge of public relations principals.

·         Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.

·         Knowledge of state open meetings and public records law.

·         Knowledge of city codes, orinances, policies, and procedures.

·         Knowledge of local government revenue collection principals.

·         Skill in project management.

·         Skill in strategic planning.

·         Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work.

·         Skill in problem solving.

·         Skill in interpersonal relations.

·         Skill in dealing with the public.

·         Skill in oral and written communication.

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered; (7) years of related experience in Public Administration. Ecperience in local government is preferred. Certified Public Manager (CPM), Certified Municipal Clerk (MCM).
