Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your team's day-to-day operations, ensuring assignments are completed and compliance standards are met.
  • Review development applications for compliance with state and local codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Assist with all permits reviewed and issued by the Land Development Division.
  • Lead initiatives for compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) MS4 General Permit and prepare the annual MS4 report.
  • Administer the City's Dry Weather Outfall Screening Program to identify and resolve illicit discharge issues.
  • Investigate resident complaints and collaborate with other departments on erosion control, arboriculture, and stormwater projects.
  • Oversee compliance for construction site runoff, stream buffer management, and tree preservation codes.
  • Provide technical expertise on enforcement actions and ensure all required measures are implemented per approved plans.
  • Assist in developing, administering, and enforcing policies, rules, and regulations related to construction site runoff control, stormwater and watershed management, stream buffer management, Chattahoochee River Corridor Management, and other linked or associated environmental issues.
  • Develop and implement systems to simplify and improve land development approval processes.
  • Ensure compliance with the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District Audits by tracking and documenting relevant data and producing annual, bi-annual, and bi-monthly reports to meet compliance requirements with the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District Audits.
  • Ensure compliance with the State's CRS application and evaluation process and prepare the annual CRS Report.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of supervisory experience in land development and stormwater management.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • GSWCC Level IB (Red Card) and Level II Plans Reviewer (Silver Card) certifications within 4-6 months.
  • A valid Georgia driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in construction management or inspection.
  • Active participation in relevant professional organizations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, codes, and best practices.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and strong administrative skills.
  • A meticulous approach to reviewing reports, plans, and fieldwork with high attention to detail.
