City of Enigma – Job Announcement
Position: City Clerk

The City of Enigma, Georgia, is accepting applications for the position of City Clerk. This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining the official records of the City, preparing agendas and minutes for Mayor and Council meetings, administering municipal elections, and providing support to the public and city staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and safeguard all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts.

  • Prepare, post, and distribute agendas and minutes of City Council meetings.

  • Administer oaths of office and maintain custody of the city seal.

  • Oversee municipal elections in compliance with state law.

  • Serve as the City’s open records officer, responding to public records requests.

  • Manage payroll and assist with financial reporting using QuickBooks.

  • Perform related administrative and financial duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in public administration, business, or a related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in municipal government, public administration, or office management strongly preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and QuickBooks.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with elected officials, staff, and the public.

  • Must be able to obtain Georgia Certified Municipal Clerk designation within a specified time frame (if not already certified).

  • Salary will be commensurate with experience.
