Are you passionate about tech, events, and smooth sound checks? The City of Sandy Springs is looking for an experienced, full time, non-exempt Audio Video (AV) Technician to join our Facilities team and keep things running cleanly behind the scenes — and in front of the camera.
From live-streaming City Council meetings to supporting community events and maintaining AV systems across our buildings and City Springs campus, this is your chance to make an impact where it matters: right in the heart of public service.
What You’ll Do:
- Set up, operate, and break down AV equipment for city meetings and events.
- Run live AV support for council sessions, press events, and community programs.

- Monitor livestreams, troubleshoot in real time, and ensure top-notch quality.
- Maintain AV systems, perform updates, track equipment inventory, and coordinate repairs.
- Train staff or volunteers on how to use presentation equipment.
- Support the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) AV needs.
- Stay current on tech trends and recommend upgrades.
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or AV tech certification preferred.
- 3+ years professional AV experience — ideally in government, education, or venues.
- Hands-on experience with systems like Crestron, Extron, Shure, QSC, etc.
- Skilled in YouTube Live, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, OBS, vMix, and other AV platforms.
- A valid Georgia driver’s license with a good driving history.
What We’re Looking For:
- A calm problem-solver with great communication skills.
- Someone who thrives under pressure and keeps events glitch-free.
- Tech-savvy, organized, and not afraid of cables, remotes, or rapid-fire adjustments.
- A collaborator who enjoys helping others shine on screen or on stage.
Work Environment:
- Medium physical effort (lifting up to 50 lbs), occasional long days or late meetings.
- Hands-on with equipment, with both desk time and movement around City facilities.
- A great fit for someone who loves behind-the-scenes work that helps public service shine.
