Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Judicial Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring court proceedings and case records are handled efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities include:
Performing clerical and administrative duties in support of the Sandy Springs Municipal Court
Maintaining court dockets, calendars, filing deadlines, and hearing schedules
Assembling, organizing, and preparing documents and materials for judicial proceedings
Managing, reviewing, and entering case information into court databases
Monitoring deadlines, tracking action items, and documenting completed tasks
Generating reports related to court activity, due dates, and case status
Reviewing previous case records for accuracy and entering new cases
Processing incoming mail and filing, retrieving, and organizing court documents
Performing accurate data entry using electronic systems and databases
Communicating clearly and professionally with judges, court staff, attorneys, and the public
Providing courteous, tactful assistance to the public in sensitive or challenging situations
Obtaining GCIC Certification within 12 months of hire
Performing other related duties as assigned under immediate supervision
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED
1–4 years of clerical, administrative, or related experience(A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may substitute for experience)
Ability to obtain and maintain GCIC Certification within 12 months
Preferred QualificationsBilingual in English and Spanish
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
Current GCIC Certification
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong organizational and data management skills
Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines accurately
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact professionally with the public in high-stress situations
Proficiency with calendars, databases, and standard office equipment
Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in routine and unexpected situations
Physical & Environmental Requirements (ADA Compliance)Ability to perform light to medium physical work, including lifting up to 20 pounds
Tasks may involve standing, walking, bending, reaching, repetitive motion, and extended periods at a workstation
Some duties performed in adverse environmental conditions, including cold outdoor environments
Ability to perceive visual and auditory cues and communicate orally
