The Hinesville Downtown Development Authority is accepting applications for an Executive Director. The Executive Director serves as the chief administrator for the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority (HDDA) and leads downtown redevelopment and economic development initiatives for the City of Hinesville. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting HDDA programs and activities, with a strong emphasis on reinvestment, redevelopment, and placemaking in the historic downtown core.
Major Duties:
- Serves as expert staff for the HDDA Board, the Bryant Commons Joint Management Board, Hinesville Historic Commission, Liberty Cultural and Historic Resources Committee, the Downtown Overlay Design Review Board, and others providing administrative support, assisting in the preparation, execution, and implementation of all development plans, programs, and activities adopted by the boards
- Lead downtown redevelopment and economic development initiatives, including catalytic projects, adaptive reuse, mixed-use development, and business recruitment.
Manage redevelopment and economic development incentive programs, development agreements, site selection efforts, and feasibility analysis
- Provides administrative, financial, and managerial oversight of the HDDA, including budgeting, agendas, committees, and volunteer coordination. Prepare reports and presentations for the HDDA, Urban Redevelopment Agency (URA) Historic Preservation Commission, Military Affairs Committee, and Veterans Memorial Walk
- Coordinate with city departments to align infrastructure, streetscape, and capital improvement projects with redevelopment goals. Engage developers, property owners, and business owners to encourage reinvestment and activation of underutilized properties
- Identify, pursue, and assist with administration of redevelopment-related grants and funding. Represent the City and HDDA at local, regional, and state economic development and downtown revitalization meetings
- Knowledge of urban redevelopment tools, municipal finance, and incentive programs demonstrated ability to advance complex redevelopment projects, sound independent judgment and decision-making ability
- The ability to work well with a diverse group of people with excellent oral and written communication along with the ability to be energetic, creative, and commitment to professionalism, integrity, transparency, and public service
Salary Range - $96,932.41 – $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position closes on March 4, 2026.
