The Sanitation Superintendent manages the operations of the Sanitation Division and directs the collection and transport of solid waste.

Examples of Duties
-
- Prioritizes, assigns, monitors, and evaluates the work of division employees.
- Reviews work orders and route sheets to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of solid waste collection activities.
- Coordinates employee safety meetings; monitors work and enforces safety policies and procedures.
- Assists in the development of the division annual and capital improvement budgets; monitors and controls expenditures under current budget.
- Researches and develops specifications for division vehicles and equipment; recommends and coordinates purchases.
- Develops holiday and special work schedules.
- Responds to and resolves customer complaints.
- Prepares reports; maintains records of division activities.
- Assists with the administration of the solid waste ordinance.
- Oversees the placement, repair, and removal of all collection containers and performs other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications
-
- Bachelor's Degree;
- Five (5) years of experience in a related field;
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience;
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Certification; and
- Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.
