Forsyth County Government is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to support emergency preparedness planning, response coordination, and community safety initiatives. This role works closely with public safety partners, County departments, schools, and community organizations to ensure effective planning, training, and response to emergencies and disasters.
Coordinate emergency preparedness planning and response activities
Support Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations and multi-agency coordination
Plan and conduct training exercises in accordance with HSEEP guidelines
Assist with volunteer coordination, training records, and program activities
Prepare After Action Reports and situational reports following incidents and exercises
Support development and updates to emergency plans and procedures
Coordinate outreach with schools, businesses, and community groups
Assist with grant tracking, reporting, and administrative tasks
Maintain communication with state, federal, and local emergency partners
Associate degree or equivalent
Two years of emergency management or related public safety experience
Valid Georgia driver’s license required
Georgia Certified Emergency Manager (GA-CEM) preferred
This position may require on-call duty, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays during emergencies. The role is designated safety-sensitive and subject to County drug and alcohol testing policies.
