Maintenance Crew Leader Public Works JOB SUMMARY PW/5
This position supervises and participates in the work of a crew of personnel engaged in public works infrastructure and grounds maintenance and repair duties.
MAJOR DUTIES
• Supervises a crew of personnel engaged in street maintenance, drainage system maintenance, street sign maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, and other public works maintenance activities.
• Trains, assigns, and supervises assigned crew members; coordinates work assignments and assigns crew members to equipment.
• Operates a variety of equipment as required to perform street and other public works maintenance.
• Transports equipment and materials to and from work sites.
• Establishes safety zones at work sites and enforces safety policies and procedures.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies.
• Completes work orders in computer system; enters time, personnel, and equipment used for each project.
• Responds to questions, complaints, and concerns from the public.
• Responds to storm and other natural disasters and coordinates clean up and repair activities.
• Supervises and participates in the installation of holiday decorations and in the preparation for special events.
