Summary

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD

INESVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Hinesville Police Department is accepting applications for a School Crossing Guard. The position requires being able to work a split shift due to the responsibility of having to direct traffic in the morning before school begins and again in the afternoon when school ends for the day.  The position is part-time and averages 20 hours/week.  

Major duties include:

  • Escorting children across designated school crossing zones 
  • Directing school traffic and buses into main traffic flow
  • Providing direction to the general public
  • Directs vehicles to maintain smooth flow of traffic in front of school during designated school drop-off and pick-up hours
  • Directs traffic in heavily congested areas during peak hours
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Applicants must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License and be at least eighteen (18) years of age.  Minimum hourly rate of pay is $15.35/per hour.  This position is open until filled.
