Program Assistant


Summary

The City of Hinesville is accepting applications for a Program Assistant to provide administrative support to the Homeless Prevention Program.  The Program Assistant will ensure timely and efficient processing of all applications, data input and reports while functioning effectively in an independent situation.  Applicants should be energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of providing administrative support to the program.  

Major duties include routing phone calls, messages and packages to the appropriate staff member, assisting clients in completing required documents, collecting, interpreting, recording, and inputting  data into the Homeless Management Information System; tracking current grant programs related to the Homeless Prevention Program; maintaining a good rapport with local public service agencies while displaying a solid understanding of the programs and assistance available to them through the Homeless Prevention.  

Experience in working with the homeless or administration within a social service agency is preferable.  Candidates must have oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to read and interpret policies and procedures as they relate to government programs.  Skills in operating modern office equipment such as a computer, various software programs and copier are required.  

Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field, and one to two years of experience in providing administrative support.  Minimum starting salary is $40,737.18 plus excellent benefits. Applications will be accepted through June 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
