The City of Clarkston Police Department is seeking qualified and experienced law enforcement professionals to serve as Lieutenant. This leadership position provides advanced supervisory and administrative oversight with department-wide impact and plays a critical role in operational readiness, strategic initiatives, personnel development, and community safety.

The Lieutenant serves as a key member of the Department’s leadership team, overseeing operations, supervising personnel, supporting command staff initiatives, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies, applicable laws, and risk management standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years at the rank of Sergeant
  • Georgia P.O.S.T. Certification in good standing with no pending disciplinary actions

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $77,427.21 – $98,719.70, depending on qualifications and experience. The City of Clarkston offers a competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement benefits, and paid leave.
