The City of Clarkston Police Department is seeking an experienced, strategic, and service-driven law enforcement leader to serve as Police Lieutenant. This command-level position provides advanced supervisory and administrative oversight with department-wide impact and plays a critical role in operational leadership, personnel management, organizational effectiveness, and public safety initiatives.

The Lieutenant serves as a key member of the Department’s leadership team and is responsible for coordinating operations, supervising personnel, supporting strategic initiatives, ensuring policy compliance, and promoting accountability and professionalism throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field preferred
• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, including at least two (2) years at the rank of Sergeant; OR
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position

Certifications & Licensing

• Must possess Georgia P.O.S.T. Certification
• Must be in good standing with P.O.S.T. and have no pending disciplinary actions

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $77,427.21 – $98,719.70, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The City of Clarkston offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including medical coverage, retirement benefits, and paid leave.
