Mowing Equipment Operator


Summary

The Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Mowing Equipment Operator.  

This position is responsible for the operation of equipment and materials commonly used in right-of-way maintenance. This position reports directly to the Right of Way Mowing Crew Leader. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the operation and maintenance and agricultural tractors, rotary cutters, string trimmers, chainsaws, an ATV/UTV, various pieces of other gas-powered small equipment, and the use of various hand tools. This position may be required to perform various other duties as assigned by the Public Works Director and supervisors within the department.

Minimum qualifications include a valid class C Georgia driver’s license, knowledge and a level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Applicants must be physically able to walk and stand for long periods and repetitively lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. An aptitude test will be conducted as a part of the interview process.

This is a full-time position, and compensation will be based on qualifications, and the current county pay scale with a comprehensive benefits package.
