The City of Hinesville is accepting applications for a Grant Specialist I. This position is responsible for providing grants administration support to the Community Development Department to ensure timely and quality execution of all grant programs.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Performs turn-key administration of assigned grant awards from post-award through to project close-out; In-general this will be awards of smaller amounts; however, assignments may change upon closeout and/or receipt of new awards;
- Ensures grant compliance by independently researching applicable regulations, policies, and guidance documents for grants administration issues (post-award, allowable costs, audits, etc.);
- Processing invoices and bills associated with assigned grant programs and completing reimbursement requests for assigned grants;
- Reconciles accounts by tracking all expenditures and addressing discrepancies related to grant funding;
- Maintaining up-to-date paper and electronic departmental files on all grant projects, required forms, correspondence, contracts, and recipients as applicable;
- Collecting accurate information/data for use in reports, grant applications, and departmental materials;
- Hosting workshops and public meetings as needed;
Experience with grant writing or grant administration within a government agency, above-average skills in written and oral communication, negotiation and problem-solving and the ability to read and interpret policies and procedures as they relate to government programs is required. One to two years’ work-related experience and an Associate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field is also required.
Minimum starting salary is $40,737.18 plus excellent benefits. The position closes on August 18, 2026, at 5pm.
